...i'm gonna get wit dat...if you don't mind...

...good effort though David&Goliath, who in another reference to hip-hop history happen to be based in El Segundo...although I doubt that had anything to do with A Tribe Called Quest

this is a tune that brings back some memories, still not going out to part with my very hard earned cash on a Kia Soul any time soon

The best iPod threeway segway of the week...

Particularly enjoyed this random line up in the sun this morning:

From January '94 Snoops second single outing:

From September '01 The Hives (from Sveden) with Main Offender (AWESOME live if you get the chance, i'd never wanted to be the fat bassist in the band before seeing them at the Astoria round-about then):

Finally 1990's classic by the Butthole Surfers...originally penned by Donovan:

Butthole Surfers, “The Hurdy Gurdy Man” from Filler Reference on Vimeo.

Loving your work my iPhone.

where it all started...

beasties boys: pass the mic
Uploaded by kurdy_. - Music videos, artist interviews, concerts and more.

...for me at least. Apart from a mid-eighties appreciation for Run DMC and PE , pretty much up until 1992 I was a bit of a tunnel vision Indie Pop kid, then Watto brought round the Pass the Mike casingle (remember those?) and suddenly I realised there was more to life than four strings. Also see Gunshot and Arrested Development...although, the latter perhaps not so much, it was a time and a place thing

hmmm DROP!

this was going to be Ya Mama, but the sound quality on the version i found was bobbins, plus, this has got a neat cameo from the B-Boys, which i'm sure you'll all agree is no bad thing

The Pharcyde off of Labcabincalifornia...it was all filmed in backwards and everything...

5 for my levys...

...my bass is crazy heavy...

nosaj and sebastian, aka New Kindgom, the best rap group that never survived (not to be confused with these charlatans who appear to have now magpied the name). for the uninitiated, get a copy of Heavy Load (you might struggle because it's now sadly out of print...alternatively give me a shout to get a copy on Mini-Disk if you have the means) and get educated, you won't be disappointed.

brings back very happy memories of a crazy evening at the Waterfront, Norwich, circa '93 (Price?)

The 2009 Christmas Number 1...

First of many such festive chart upsets I predict...unless the number of copycats dilute the effort in years upcomming; feels good to have been part of it.

Arguably the best rap tune ever...

...if not, then certainly top 10? I welcome anyone to suggest otherwise...
